march 2011
Fitting that I posted this on my birthday.
There’s that point in a story where you can feel a shift, a change that something is about change. Sometimes it’s called the winds of change, sometimes it’s a literal wind or storm. Needless to say, traditionally we look for a sign of change, or that something is about to change. Well since we’re all not part of story and foreshadowing is only for the reader…
.
Dear Reader, things are about to change.
.
When you hit the point of your life like I’m in you can tell when things are about to change. The change this time is a bit different than the past changes in my life, they’re new, which is a nice change instead of the same old transition into something new. March, blew by just like spring winds that were warmer during the middle of March than they were at the end.
A cold wind at the beginning of March reminded me that we’re not done yet. I’ve still got a good ways to go and I’m not going to make it through without pushing through and fighting that cold till the bitter end. As much as I might want to believe I’m out of the storm, the winds remind me that we’ve still got work to do.
A warm breeze during the middle of March reminded me that it’s all worth it in the end. As much as the world can throw at us, there’s always hope, there’s always a new wind blowing in the newness of spring and new life. Sometimes we forget in all the cold that there is another side of that coin, and all we need is a little sun to remember that.
A cooler wind at the end of March reminded me not to get comfortable, because life isn’t always going to go the way I plan it. There’s always something new to know, always something new to do and life isn’t a straight line it’s more wibbly wobbly timey wimey. Someone’s telling me to expect the things that aren’t quite expected, and aren’t the most comfortable, but they’re still the right things.

The winds of change… How they make me think…

What’s next…

Below are some pics from my trip to Philadelphia. Realizing more and more I need to replace that camera I lost this past summer. Bad photos are driving me nuts.
music to listen to
Just in time for SXSW I’ve got a band you’ve probably never heard of before. Wye Oak is a little band that has snuck under my radar… until now. Driving beats and bass with a haunting voice to boot. I’m sold.
Other music I’m listening includes some older albums from artist such as James Yuill, Telekinesis!, Fun. and the Local Natives. (Well not real old). Been a good music month so far, and can’t wait for a couple of albums to drop soon.
